A captivating journey reveals the tender beginnings of a romance and a deep, unconditional love for nature in the face of environmental change. Solids by the Seashore offers a meditative experience that gently guides us through the beautiful landscapes surrounding a city in southern Thailand, through the soothing rhythm of a sea breeze. On a once-sandy beach eroded by high tides and now guarded by artificial rock sea walls, two young women meet. Fon, an activist turned visual artist, is passionate and inspired by the landscape, while Shati, a local Muslim woman, experiences internal conflicts due to her traditional roots, which prohibit same-sex relationships. Caught between fear and desire, Shati is reminded of the old cautionary tales from her childhood told by her beloved grandmother. As events from these tales gradually come to life, the line between dream and reality blurs, between the sea and the shore, between the walls that protect us and simultaneously challenge us on our journey towards self-discovery.
