OT: Des preuves d’amour
Paris, 2014. Sound engineer and DJ Céline is expecting her first child—but she is not pregnant. In a few months, her wife Nadia will give birth to a daughter. While Nadia works at the emergency dental clinic, suffering from nausea and shortness of breath, Céline practices baby care on a colleague's children. Will this chaos soon become her everyday life? Despite “marriage for all,” Céline must prove to the state with 15 personal letters from friends and family that she is up to the task—and at the same time make peace with her mother, who always went her own way.
Inspired by her own experiences with French adoption bureaucracy, director Alice Douard shows how closely private and political issues are intertwined in the lives of LGBTIQ+ families.
Her sensitive and humorous debut premiered at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes and won the Audience Award at the Hamburg Film Festival.
