A discovery: a collection of 16 mm films that documents aspects of the palestinian struggle for liberation from the 1960s to the 1980s shot by various filmmakers has been found in Japan. An archive of solidarity that illustrates the global repercussions of the Palestinian question and its centrality to the formation of leftist political identities during the cold war, also in Japan. Mohanad Yaqubi has drawn on this material to create a film that might be seen as a conclusion or an epilogue. He shows how two very different people can feel connected through images. The film also raises crucial questions: where to draw the line between support and propaganda? And to what extent can a local struggle be translated internationally?
