Berlin premiere Don't Stop Motion + Q&A

214117

We're very pleased to welcome the film crew of don't stop motion for their Berlin premiere on December 3rd, 3 pm, followed by a talk with the directors and protagonists.

Three courageous young adults are telling the moving stories of their journey to Europe and their life here. By using handmade dolls, cardboard and stop-motion technique, they put their experiences on the silver screen.

Each in their own way, Zahra, Muntazar and Ahmad grant us glimpses into their lived reality– the memories of their home country and their escape. Apart from very intimate interview footage, partly scenic, partly abstract stop-motion sequences enable us to dive deeper into the interior world of our protagonists.

A hybrid form between classic documentary and stop-motion, the films' protagonists aim to tackle the often distorted images of themselves and refugees in general that persist in society. Together with five other young adults an intercultural film crew was formed under the media educational direction of Niels Bauder and Franziska Bausch-Moser. Introduced to their creative process, both the positive energy originating in shared creativity and the hope to make a lasting impact with their film become visible.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film crew.
