Film posters are not only an effective visual means of advertising a film as widely as possible, but in the best case they are also an art form of their own. As illustrations or graphics, they represent an emotional interpretation, an artistic reaction to a cinematic work.

Out of a love of poster art, Wolf Kino has been producing a monthly programme newspaper since 2018, in the middle of which an artist presents a poster for a current film that has been produced completely free of marketing constraints: the "exclusive Wolf Gazette poster". Until today, around 70 very special film posters of very different artistic styles and forms of expression have been created. Illustrator, musician and Wolf employee Miro Denck curates this selection of artists and posters and occasionally designs some himself.

On the occasion of the exhibition Großes Kino - Filmplakate aller Zeiten at the Kulturforum, we will be showing a large selection of the posters created since 2018 in the café-bar of our cinema from 1 February to 3 March 2024.
