Nobody in Sight

-

Nobody in Sight follows Achiko, 42, an old childhood friend of the director whose life has been marked by drug addiction for decades. Having grown up in the same neighborhood in the 1990s, the two share a common history and a love of music—a recurring theme in Kalandadze's films. Like many of his generation, Achiko came into contact with drugs at an early age and developed a severe addiction during a stay in Europe. For ten years, he and his brother have been participating in the Georgian methadone substitution program, which provides stability but offers little perspective. The starting point of the film is Achiko's desire for change – and for a place in society beyond addiction.

Nobody in Sight premiered in December 2025 at the International Tbilisi Film Festival 2025, where it was awarded the Human Rights Award. The screening will be followed by Q&A with director Kote Kalandadze and producer Elene Margvelashvili.
