Little Trouble Girls
-
OT: Kaj Ti Je Deklica
16-year-old Lucija joins the girls' choir at her Catholic school. There she meets Ana Maria, who is two years older, and befriends the self-confident, popular girl. When the entire choir travels to Italy for an intensive rehearsal weekend in the summer, tensions arise between the two: the introverted Lucija, who has grown up in a sheltered environment, falls for an attractive construction worker, and with Ana Maria's help, she begins to discover her sexuality. These are days that challenge not only the two girls' new friendship, but also Lucija's faith and values...
Slovenian filmmaker Urška Djukić won the 2022 European Film Award, among others, for her award-winning short films. In her feature film debut LITTLE TROUBLE GIRLS, carried by outstanding actors, she tells a story about female sexual awakening without resorting to clichés. The film won the FIPRESCI Film Critics' Award at the 2025 Berlinale and is Slovenia's official Oscar® entry for 2026.
