Coward
-
Surrounded by brutality, yet bound by tenderness, two Belgian soldiers in World War I find refuge in love and art. Speaking for a generation sent to war, Coward asks: Is it true courage to turn away when the world demands violence?
The new feature film by Lukas Dhont (Girl, Close) premiered in May 2026 in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won an award for its two lead actors. Coward was also selected as Belgium’s entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2027 Academy Awards.
