Preview: No Good Men + Filmgespräch mit Shahrbanoo Sadat

-

About three weeks before the official theatrical release, we’ll be presenting a preview on November 25 of Sharbanoo Sadat’s No Good Men, the opening film of this year’s Berlinale, followed by a conversation with the director!

Afghanistan in 2021, shortly before the Taliban’s return: Naru, the only female camerawoman at Kabul’s leading television station, is fighting for custody of her three-year-old son. After separating from her unfaithful husband, she has come to believe that there are no good men in her country. She is all the more surprised when Qodrat, Kabul TV’s top journalist, offers her a career opportunity. As the two drive all over the city to report on their last days of freedom, sparks fly, and Naru begins to doubt her own judgment: Could there actually be a good man out there after all?

To watch 'No Good Men' is to plunge into a captivating world saturated with color and music and irrepressible women, but tainted with the tragedy of Afghanistan’s recent history and a smarmily oppressive patriarchal society. - The Film Verdict
